Jackie O'Doherty helped out during a very stressful period for me and my daughter. When my daughter was diagnosed with thyroid tumors after a routine physical, we turned to Jackie for help in finding a pediatric endocrinologist -- not an easy proposition. Within a day, she had located an excellent doctor, near our home, who proved to be very helpful and thorough. He ultimately referred us to one of the nation's top pediatric endocrinologists for a biopsy and confirmation of his diagnosis. This physician was at the Yale Pediatric Specialty Center, and Jackie even helped us with planning the best route for our drive there, to New Haven,CT from our home in New Jersey. She made a stressful time much more manageable, and we are very grateful.

 Jacqueline O'Doherty of Health Care Connect, is a Certified Patient Advocate, who came into patient advocacy after spending 18 years in the medical device industry, calling on various hospital departments ranging from the O.R. where she taught surgeons how to use products during laparscopic surgery, to the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Interventional Radiology, Nephrology, NICU, ICU, Vascular Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, General Surgery and Infectious Disease, in addition to the Pulmonary, Urology and OB/GYN Departments.  Jacqueline also worked with Hackensack University Medical Center on Laboratory Outreach.

This wealth of experience provided her with the ability to understand firsthand the difficulties patients encounter when traveling the healthcare system and  the skills needed to resolve those issues. Jacqueline knows how to penetrate the healthcare maze and guide the patient through the obstacles created by our complex and fragmented healthcare system.

Jacqueline is a graduate of the Alfus Patient Advocacy Program at the University of Miami. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from Towson University.

Jacqueline is also a monthly contributor to Hospital Impact; she sits on the Board of Directors for the International Coalition of Professional Patient Advocates and is a member of the Caring Coalition of Northern New Jersey
